A mid-summer update from the Kings

Hey all, just a little bit of news with what we have been up to this summer:

Maria and I took our firs ttrip on a plane with Theo to go to San Francisco for my step-sister's wedding there. Theo was a joy to travel. The plane ride went with minimal fuss from Theo and he was a close second to stealing the show from the bride during the reception. The trip included a whirlwind tour around San Francisco with visits to Muir Woods, Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square, Napa Valley and Alameda. Check out our pics in the Picture Book -> Travels section.

Theo is now eight months old... and he's growing in phenomenally. I can see why people say this is the best time for babies: they idolize you, provide endless source of entertainment and they stay put (he can't crawl yet!). Check out Theo's album under Picture Book -> Theodore

Last of all Maria and I celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary today and apparently the second year gift is supposed to be something cotten. So we bought a new bed/mattress and it arrives today ..no more 20 year old mattresses that love giving sore-backs.

Berns

Baby Personalities

Theo is growing up.

Since the time a lot of people of last seen Theo, it was Baptism and he was just a lump o' baby that just ate, slept and pooed. Oh and cried. Now he he is such a joy to be around! It's so fun to watch him just be curious about everything. He hasn't crawled yet, so no major baby-proofing yet, but anything he gets his hands on, it's in his mouth (See picture gallery for the Incredible edible album).

Plunge into the Vista: An average joe's look

A while back my brother caved and bought a legit copy of XP after being bugged so long with WGA notifications and an ever crawling system from lack of updates. Being in the time frame right before Vista released, he was eligble for a 'free' upgrade. Free is a misnoner since you pay a rather large shipping cost on top of the upgrade cost to home premium; it turns out that you one get Vista home basic for free. In any event, he did not want to pay so he passed the form to me.

First weekend in the land down under

Having arrived in Australia earlier this week, I have to admit, this is an awesome country. Not withstanding the radiant sun, the things to do and see here are endless...more than a lifetimes worth to view. So what to choose to do on my first weekend here?

Theo and his first big smile (on camera at least!)

We finally caught it. Theo smiled big enough and long enough for us to catch it on camera.

He's pretty frugle with them so far... at least when you compare him to his cousin cole, a true ham if there was one. But I think Theo is going to give Cole a run for his money. Theo also loves to have regular conversations with his dad in the form of squeals, coos and ahhs. Mommy is not too happy that when she tries to converse with him, he's more interested in what she can provide in the form of a milky buffet.

On another note, we are trying to get him to spend more time on his belly. Babies nowadays are encouraged to sleep on their backs, as opposed to when we were in swaddlers where belly sleeping was the norm. Boy does Theo hate being on his belly, but today after complaining for five minutes, he passed out and was napping sound asleep. He must like sleeping on his belly, but wait until he wakes in a lake of his own drool. Heheheh. Oh wait a minute... he probably wont care

The perfect baptism

Not even two weeks old, little Theodore was baptised at Divine Infant Parish at the 5:30 mass. It was a beautiful affair...I don't know what was most amazing: the family and friends, the wonderful service done by Fr. Gerard or the fact that little Theodore was simply adorable throughout it all. Maria and I were honoured and humbled by all those honouring our little boy.
